AskCHAMPVA is an independent guide run by a 100% P&T U.S. Air Force veteran whose family uses CHAMPVA, and who works as a cybersecurity professional.
We built it because the answers families need are scattered across VA web pages, PDFs, and phone calls. Our goal is simple: explain the rules in plain English and link every answer to the official VA source so you can check it yourself.
Our editorial rules
- Every factual page cites official VA, eCFR, or CMS sources and shows when we last checked them.
- We write our own answers. We don’t copy community posts or name people.
- We never prepare, file, or charge for help with claims or applications. For one-on-one help, we point you to free accredited VSOs.
- Advertising and sponsors never change our answers. Sponsored content will always be labeled.
- We collect as little personal information as possible. See our Privacy policy.
